The chapter house of the building was also used as a burial place for abbots or for those nobles who, after offering large donations, came to occupy said space, thus obtaining the privilege of resting in one of the most important places in the monastery.
We still find different tombstones, one of them decorated with two sticks that seems to belong to Abbot García Gutierrez, who served between 1241 and 1249. We also find one with two shields and a sword, and another with a completely carved coat of arms. As of today, we do not know to whom these burials could belong, although due to their location they had to deliver a considerable amount of money to the monastery to be buried in the chapter house.
